Jadon Sancho sets new Bundesliga record as he scores twice to send Borussia Dortmund top
JADON SANCHO has become the youngest-ever footballer to score 11 goals in a Bundesliga season.
The Borussia Dortmund ace scored both goals in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Mainz to send his side top of the table ahead of Bayern Munich, who can reclaim their place with victory at Fortuna on Sunday.
Sancho’s strikes came within seven minutes of each other.
And they also marked a new piece of history in German football as he became the youngest player to net 11 times in a single campaign.
It’s been a remarkable term for Sancho, who also has 16 Bundesliga assists to his name.
He’s become a regular in Gareth Southgate’s England set-up.
And he already has four international caps to his name.
Sancho looks set to play a huge role at this summer’s Nations League, with the Three Lions facing Holland in the semi-final.

However, his future is up in the air after such a fine season.
Manchester United are believed to be keen on the winger.
And reports suggest Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready to offer up to £100million to secure Sancho’s signature.
However, Dortmund insist the teenager is not for sale and is expected to keep a calm head in order to keep developing.
Chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke told Eurosport Germany: “We will not sell him, that is fact.
“It is clearly discussed with every person who is involved that Jadon plays in the next season for BVB.
“His progress is brilliant. For his age he plays extremely remarkable because he does things you cannot plan like this.
“But we have to be careful that we do not trigger the hype. This boy just turned 19 years old.

“He is not allowed to lose a millimetre of focus because for the top players every thousandth counts.
“Cristiano Ronaldo has not been at the top of the world for many years because of his talent, but because of his focus no one else has.
“If Jadon proves that in the next few years, we can talk about a world career as well. At this time, we can only speak about his huge potential.”
