Rozsa Foundation announces new award recognizing arts board leaders
The Rozsa Foundation is introducing a new award recognizing board of directors chairpersons, the philanthropic organization announced today in a press release.
“The Rozsa Award for Excellence in Board Leadership will celebrate an outstanding chairperson of a board of directors of a mid-to-large sized arts organization,” the press release said. “An effective board chair leads through the productive relationships they have with the rest of the board, executive director, artistic director, members, funders and public as well as through the effective practices they put in place. The board chair does not just lead the board meetings, but leads the board within the organization.”
This gives the charitable foundation, founded in 1990 to recognize the philanthropy of Drs. Ted and Lola Rozsa, a second annual award. It also hands out the Rozsa Award for Excellence in Arts Management annually; 2018’s winner was Wordfest CEO Shelley Youngblut.
Nominations are open until June 7 for both awards, which will be presented in October. More information is available at rozsafoundation.org.
