Central Railway Bans Lemon And Other Artificial Juices at Mumbai Stations After Viral Video, Watch
A shocking video of a man making lemon juice unhygienically is going viral. One of the Central Railway line commuters recorded a video of a hawker at Mumbai’s Kurla station. He was seen making lemon juice using water from a tank placed over a food stall. The person was also seen squeezing lemons in a drum and stirring the mixture with his dirty hands.
After the video went viral on social media, the Central railway went to that hawker to take a sample of the lemon juice and it was unhygienic. They have ordered to ban the sale of kalakhatta, lemon juice and other syrup-based juices at food stalls in Mumbai stations.

According to Business Today, a circular was issued on Wednesday by Shailendra Kumar, Principal Chief Commercial Manager at Central Railway which stated, “Lemon and other synthetically flavoured juices made my mixing water would not be sold at the premises of Central railway.”
Kumar further said that CR cannot arrange its staff on every station to monitor the juice-making process and use of water in it. Therefore, it has decided to stop the sale of this water-based lemon and other flavoured juices. However, the central Railways also clarified that the ban does not include fresh juices made by crushing fruits.
