Solskjaer relishing Man Utd’s tie with Barcelona and insists ‘we’ve climbed mountains before’
OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER fired a warning to Barcelona and claimed: Winning trophies as Manchester United boss would eclipse all my playing achievements.
The Norwegian insisted United “have climbed mountains before” as they prepare for Barca in the Champions League quarter-finals after an astonishing comeback triumph against PSG in the last round.
Solskjaer‘s permanent appointment on a three-year deal was confirmed today after an inspirational three months as interim chief.
And in his first press conference since the announcement, he said of facing the LA Liga champions: “It’s a tough one — it’s a mountain to climb — but we’ve climbed a few mountains before.”
The 46-year-old also claimed his past successes, including a Champions League final winner against Bayern Munich 20 years ago, mean nothing compared to his new role
Solskjaer said: “What I’ve done as a player or a coach before doesn’t bother me because I’m always looking forward.

“When I leave here, if I can look back and have had success and lifted trophies that’s what I’ll be more happy with. That’s the bigger achievement.”
Solskjaer has lifted United to fifth in the Premier League, three points behind stuttering Tottenham in third place.
And United host Barcelona on April 10 before the return leg six nights later.
