Fury to fight Wilder in shock February rematch as promoter reveals new TV deals not an issue
TYSON FURY will have his rematch against WBC champ Deontay Wilder in February, according to US promoter Bob Arum.
The two heavyweights fought out a draw in December, despite most thinking Fury was cheated out of victory.
Speaking to World Boxing News, Fury’s US promoter and Top Rank chief Bob Arum said: “Assuming he (Fury) wins this fight, he’ll have another appearance in the United States.
“Then hopefully next year in February he’ll end up fighting Wilder.
“Their idea is to have Wilder fight twice on their platform and then to get together a do a PPV fight. ESPN is just a distributor.
“It may well be that Wilder also has a network involved. They may want to share the distribution in some way with ESPN and that is something we’ve done before.”
SunSport reported how the Gypsy King is set to face unbeaten German Tom Schwarz in Las Vegas in June after signing a mega-money ESPN deal.
Schwarz, 24, stands at 6ft 5ins and has won 16 of his 24 bouts inside the distance.
But he has not fought at world level and a fighter of Fury’s calibre would be a huge step up.
Fury is fresh off the back of a five-fight £80million ESPN deal and was expected to take a re-match with WBC champ Deontay Wilder after a controversial draw.
Fury ready for Vegas
Instead Dominic Breazeale will get a shot at the strap on May 18, with the Gypsy King looking at alternatives.
Asked about his plans for the year, Fury told MTK Global: “Vegas next baby.
“We want Vegas next to give the fans something to travel to for an event this summer. That’s what we want and what we’re gearing up to.

“I can’t wait for my date and next fight, I want to be back in action immediately and I’m ready to rock and roll.
“At this level it’s hard to get loads of fights. I want three fights minimum, but the longer it goes into the year the more unlikely that becomes.
“It is what it is, it’s boxing at the highest level and that’s the way it’s always been.”
