Nigel Farage’s walk to Brexit vs People’s Vote march

Sometimes a picture says a thousands words.

If you hadn’t seen or heard, quite a lot of people have flooded central London to demand a second referendum, while Nigel Farage is having a comparatively smaller demonstration in Nottinghamshire.

The former leader of the Ukip party told the crowd of about 200 pro-Brexit supporters that they are the ‘majority’, rather than the ‘one million’ protesters who descended on the capital today.

But while Farage and his supporters successfully kept to the pavement on their ‘March to Leave’, it was a decidedly different picture over in London.

When asked about the March to Leave supporters being outnumbered on Saturday by the People’s Vote March in London, he pointed to his cheering supporters gathered in the pub car park.

‘There are 17.4 million here, can’t you see them?’ he told reporters.

Organisers of The People’s Vote march claim one million people flooded the streets today, making it one of the biggest demonstrations in British history.

The Brexit protesters set off from Hyde Park Corner, while marching bands, music, whistles, chants and cheers provided a noisy backdrop.

Demonstrators wore blue and yellow berets and flew large EU flags above the crowd as they slowly made its way to Parliament Square.

Placards bore messages urging the Government to ‘revoke article 50’ and for Brexit to be put to the people.

The size of the crowd saw people of all ages spill over into the capital’s side streets.

Many people wore yellow fluorescent stickers reading ‘Bollocks to Brexit. It’s not a done deal’.
