Klay Thompson joins Steph Curry: makes 200 3PT in seven straight years
Thompson, as usual, shut down all the early talk about a slump to create more shooting history. What will it take for people to believe in one of the greatest shooters of all time?
Remember when Klay Thompson wasn’t shooting the ball up to his lofty standards to start the year? Through the first three months of the season his shooting percentages were not Splash Brotherly.

And yet, he was having none of the “slump talk” from anyone.
“What is somebody going to tell me about my jump shot that I can’t fix at this point? Unless it’s Reggie Miller or Ray Allen. I don’t know who I’m supposed to listen to. Larry Bird? Steve Kerr? I’ll listen to Steve. Steve shot 45 percent. But other than that it’s like, I’ve done this job for a long enough time. I know what I need to do.”

Since then he’s put on a hellacious shooting display, made the All-Star game, and created some more Splash Bro history. Per Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle:
With five 3-pointers in Wednesday’s win over Houston, Thompson joined Curry as the only players in NBA history to hit at least 200 3-pointers in seven straight seasons. Thompson is tied with Peja Stojakovic (1,760 career 3s) for 17th place on the league’s all-time 3s list (Curry is third with 2,413). If Thompson keeps up his current pace, he will pass Ray Allen — the all-time leader with 2,973 3s — in five seasons, at age 34.
Just another RIDICULOUS season from long range from the Golden Empire’s star shooting guard. GSoM godfather Nate P. jokingly remarked that I should do some research on what seems to be a semi-annual “Is Klay Slumping?!” worry frenzy. Sure enough, I dug around and found it’s almost a yearly occurrence that Klay has a few off nights, and people start freaking out.
Did you know he’s around a career 41% three-point shooter? Keep in mind that Klay has the most three-point makes in a regular season game (14) and playoff game (11), and once drilled 276 treys in a season, sixth highest all time.
No wonder Klay snapped at the media back in December for questioning the stroke!
