Harry Redknapp talks up Tottenham’s move for “top level” 23-year-old
Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has said Aston Villa midfielder and reported Spurs target Jack Grealish belongs at the “very top level”.
Grealish was said to be close to joining Tottenham last summer before Villa’s new owners performed a last minute U-turn on the deal.
The 23-year-old has struggled with injuries this season but recently returned to the team with a winning goal against Birmingham City, despite being attacked by a supporter earlier in the game.
Spurs were linked with Grealish again in last week with suggestions the Londoners could make another move for the playmaker this summer.
And Redknapp believes Grealish has the potential to play at the highest level.
“Apparently they were going to take him, weren’t they?” Redknapp told talkSPORT (via the Birmingham Mail).
“The club was in trouble and maybe Daniel Levy thought he could really get him very cheap. Then the new owners came into Villa and they didn’t need the money suddenly.
“I love Grealish. I think he’s a real talent, honestly. I love watching him play.
“I think he’s a kid who could play at the very top level.”
Tottenham are expected to make signings this summer after failing to do so in each of the last two transfer windows.

Despite his injuries, Grealish has surely done enough this term to earn himself a move to the Premier League at the end of the campaign.
