Cheltenham Festival 2019: Hazel Hill burrows them into the ground in Foxhunter demolition job
HAZEL HILL (7-2f) is the champion hunter chaser after proving a league ahead of his rivals in the Foxhunter Challenge Cup.
The winning pointer dismissed his rivals with ease under a terrific waiting ride from Alex Edwards.
Just like Gold Cup a race earlier, the field went off at a fearsome lick with Sam Waley-Cohen leading the way aboard Road To Rome.
The pair made sure that few got into it as the race progressed, with Top Wood and Shantou Flyer looking the most likely dangers as they rounded the home turn.
However, under a brilliantly timed ride, Alex Edwards coaxed Hazel Hill into contention – and the pair shot away in style.
The young amateur flew the last fence and from then the result was never in doubt.
