WICHITA, Kan. – After 13 seasons at the helm, Friends University Men's Soccer head coach Nathan Wilkey has submitted his resignation.
"We are sad to see Nathan go," Friends University Athletic Director Dr. Rob Ramseyer said. "He has provided 13 years of service to Friends University and has made a significant impact on the lives of countless student-athletes. We wish him the best."
Wilkey posted a solid overall record of 139-80-3 in his tenure at Friends, with a 70-30-3 mark in the KCAC.
In what proved to be his final season leading the Falcons, Wilkey guided the team to a 12-7 overall record and a third-place KCAC finish with a 9-3 conference mark last year. The Falcons also won a KCAC postseason tournament quarterfinal match in 2018, scoring five unanswered goals to win 6-3 over York College.
Wilkey wasted no time in helping the Falcons find success, as he led them to an undefeated KCAC conference regular season championship and a 17-4 overall record in his first season as head coach in 2006. The 2007 season then featured a 9-1 conference record and a KCAC tournament championship. Wilkey played at Friends University for two seasons (1988-89).
A national search for Wilkey's replacement will begin immediately.
