Adding to the tensions in Caracas on Tuesday, local media reported that a prominent journalist, Luis Carlos Diaz, was arrested by intelligence agents. He was taken to the Helicoide, the infamous jail for political prisoners, according to the National Union of Journalism Workers. Diaz anchored a daily radio show and is a well-known commentator on social media.
