Zidane finally reacts to Real Madrid's woeful defeat to Ajax in the Champions League

- Zinedine Zidane seemed to have predicted Real Madrid's fate in the Champions League

- The ex-Los Blancos manager believed it would be difficult another European cup glory

- Santiago Solari's men have now lost four consecutive home games in the last four matches

Zinedine Zidane has revealed that Real Madrid's downfall was inevitable following the club's exit in the Champions League.

His former club suffered an embarrassing defeat to Ajax as they fell 4-1 at the Bernabeu losing 5-3 on aggregate.

The defeat to the Amsterdam based side was Los Blancos' fourth consecutive home loss - twice to Barcelona, Girona and now Ajax.

"It would have been difficult for me to win again next year," he said, per ESPN. "There have been good moments, but also difficult times.

"I do not forget that. And at this club, you must know this: I do not want to start a season and have a bad time.

"I want to end with Real Madrid when everything is going well. I did it as a player, and now again as a coach. This [is] the right moment to end things well."

There is virtually nothing to play for this season, with 12 points behind Barcelona in La Liga and getting dumped out of the Champions League as well as the Copa del Rey.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Zinedine Zidane has confessed to close friends he is unsure if he will replace Maurizio Sarri as Chelsea boss with Serie A champions Juventus keen on offering him a deal– and a return to the Italian topflight as manager.

According to The Sun, Blues Italian boss Sarri extended his stay at Stamford Bridge after Wednesday’s win over Tottenham in the Premier League, but there are doubts surrounding his capabilities to manage the club going forward.
