Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's mom really wants her daughter to get married: 'They do very well with children'

- She's been dating her boyfriend, Riley Roberts, for four years since getting back together after breaking up in college.
- "He is the most loving, supporting person I've seen," Blanca said. "I know they love children."
Blanca Ocasio-Cortez is just like most other moms: She just wants her daughter, Alexandria, to settle down and get married.
She told The Daily Mail that she hopes Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez marries her boyfriend, Riley Roberts, sometime soon. The two have been dating for four years since they got back together following a breakup in college.
"I love him," Blanca said. "He is the most loving, supporting person I've seen."
The New York representative's mother lives in Eustis, Florida, moving there in early 2018 for "privacy and calm" after raising her children in the Bronx and Yorktown Heights. She lives with her mother, Clotilde, and her rescue dog. Blanca's husband, Sergio Ocasio, died of lung cancer in 2008.
Blanca said she wanted Roberts, a social media consultant, to join the family.
"I know they love children, and they do very well with children from the family," she told The Daily Mail. "I hope they get married soon."
Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, though newly elected, is already one of the most famous politicians in the country.
With an unapologetically democratic-socialist platform, the 28-year-old won her primary over Joe Crowley, who served in Congress for 20 years and was one of the highest-ranked Democrats in the House of Representatives. Ocasio-Cortez coasted her way through the general election and has helped push the party to the left.
Her mother said she never expected her family to become famous. Her Florida neighbors — her district consistently votes for Republicans — may not even know who she is yet.
"I don't like the limelight for myself and my family," she said. "But it seems that God played quite a joke on me with this politics stuff."
