The first Tribe game of 2019 ended in a tie against their in-state rival, the Cincinnati Reds. Tyler Naquin hit a home run in his first at-bat, Adam Plutko and Adam Cimber both had clean outings, and Roberto Perez got a hit. Most importantly, no one left the field injured.

Hanley Ramirez is 35 and has struggled with injuries in various stages of his career. But if he’s healthy, he can add some of that slugging power that the Cleveland lineup seems to be sorely missing at this point. He will be an interesting player to keep an eye on this spring.

There have been discussions for a couple of years, but Tyler Clippard is now a part of the Cleveland organization and he’s looking to make an impact.

That’s all well and good, but it’s much easier to achieve lofty goals when you sign some key players in the off-season and don’t lose others in the process.

I don’t have the data, but I don’t feel like many of the Tribe pitchers took a ton of time between pitches last season, so this really shouldn’t make too much of a difference to them.
