PDP candidate Akinjo reportedly emerges winner of Ilaje/Ese-Odo federal constituency in Ondo

- Akinjo polled a total number of 32,082 votes to beat his closest rival, Donald Ojogo of the All Progressives Congress
- Ojogo polled 20,603 votes at the Saturday’s February 23 National Assembly elections held in the state
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Victor Kolade Akinjo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as winner of Ilaje/Ese-Odo federal constituency in Ondo state.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the PDP candidate polled 32,082 votes to beat his closest rival, Donald Ojogo of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Legit.ng gathers that Ojogo pulled 20,603 votes at the Saturday’s February 23 National Assembly elections.

Johnson Fatimirin, the INEC’s returning officer for the constituency, made the declaration at the collation centre in Igbokoda.
Fatimirin said Akinjo, having satisfied the requirement of the law by pulling the highest votes, has been declared winner of the National Assembly elections for Ilaje/Ese-Odo federal constituency.
He said: “Having satisfied the requirement of the law by having the highest number of votes of 32, 082, Akinjo of PDP is hereby declared winner and returned elected.'’

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Opeyemi Bamidele, the All Progressive Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Ekiti Central, had reportedly emerged victorious in the Saturday, February 23 election held in Ekiti state.
Bamidele, a former House of Representatives member between 2011 and 2015, was declared the authentic winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), having polled a total number of 94,279 votes.
