Trump reportedly doesn't follow diet and exercise plan 'religiously,' and people aren't shocked

It’s no secret that President Trump loves fast food. During the government shutdown, he even bragged about having the Clemson Tigers’ White House visit “catered” by McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King and Domino’s Pizza. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the president hasn’t “religiously” followed his doctor’s orders to go on a diet and exercise more frequently, as one White House official told CNN.
“The president received a diet and exercise plan last year after his annual physical, but the president admits he has not followed it religiously,” said Hogan Gidley, the principal deputy White House press secretary.
The internet was quick to criticize Trump for his reportedly unhealthy lifestyle. One quote in particular from an interview the president did last year really stuck out to people.
“I get exercise. I mean I walk, I this, I that,” Trump told Reuters. “I run over to a building next door. I get more exercise than people think.”
His love of Diet Coke inevitably came up too. The New York Times reported in 2017 that the president drinks as many as 12 Diet Cokes each day.
Others thought Trump’s avoidance of exercise and indulging in some cheat days on his diet was pretty relatable, though.
