The Week of Jan. 14 - 20 in Review
The race for the top four spots in the California Pacific Conference standings and a berth in the postseason is heated, with Embry-Riddle and Antelope Valley sitting at 6-1 at the top and No. 22 UC Merced and Simpson both 5-2 and tied for second. UAV, which hosts both the men's and women's championships this year on Feb. 23-26, is vying to hold onto the right to host. That privilege goes to the previous year's regular season winners. The Pioneers, ranked No. 10 in the NAIA, have suffered only one loss--a 101-96 overtime setback to the Eagles on Jan. 10. ERAU's only loss came in a two-point defeat at UCM on Jan. 3.
