The league’s top left back has put pen to paper on a new long-term deal. Ever since last season, following his stellar first year at the club, there have been rumours Liverpool were working on a new contract for Andrew Robertson. Today, he’s signed it, a new five-year deal to keep him at the club through 2024.
“As soon as the club came to me, it was a no-brainer for me,” Robertson said. “I want to stay here, so as soon as they put an offer on the table it was signed as quickly as that. It was a pretty easy contract for me and I’m sure for the club as well.”
It’s good news for the club and fans—and well deserved for Robertson. Having arrived from relegated Hull City in the summer of 2017 for just £8M, Robertson took a few months to settle in at his new club but hasn’t looked back.
