Mount Pleasant, IA - January 16, 2019 - The Iowa Wesleyan women's basketball team hosted Eureka College in a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest this evening. After a close first half of action, Eureka was able to pull away in the second half to secure a 73-56 win over the Tigers.
The first quarter was low scoring for both teams as it took a bit for the offenses to get rolling. Eureka took a 6-2 lead early, but IW was able to tie the game up after a layup by Jordanne Mickley (FR/Arnold, MO) and a three pointer by Darby Massner (SR/Mediapolis, IA). Massner sank pair of free throws with 1:41 left to play in the opening period to give Iowa Wesleyan their first lead of the game, but the Red Devils answered and held a three point advantage at the end of the quarter.
