It was just one of those nights.
St. Ambrose suffered through its worst shooting night of the season and saw its six-game winning streak come to an end in a 65-49 loss at Judson Wednesday.
The Bees shot just 27.9 percent from the floor in falling to 15-5 overall and 8-3 in the conference.
The deficit was only two points at 33-31 at halftime, but after shooting nearly 36 percent over the game's first 20 minutes, SAU really struggled in the third. Hailey Cook's layup three minutes into the period kept the margin at three points at 37-35. But the Bees connected on just one of their final 10 shots in the frame - that coming on an Aubrie Carlisle layup. Judson (9-10, 5-6 CCAC) took advantage, outscoring St. Ambrose 13-2 over the final seven minutes to take a 50-37 lead heading into the fourth.
SAU was just 2-of-14 overall in the third quarter in getting outscored 17-6.
The Eagles opened the final period with a 3-pointer and the Bees would get no closer than 14 points the rest of the way.
St. Ambrose finished 17-of-61 from the floor, including a 3-of-18 mark from beyond the arc.
Candace Finnin led the Bees with 13 points. Nine of those came in the fourth quarter. Carlisle was the only other Bee to reach double figures, finishing with 11 points to go along with her team-best eight rebounds. Cook and Madi Epperson each scored eight points.
SAU, which has won 12 of its last 14 games, will look to get back to its winning ways Saturday at Indiana-South Bend.
