President Muhammadu Buhari has called on Nigerians not to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party in the coming elections saying the party is only interested in covering its tracks.
The Nation reports that the president said this at the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign rally at the Confluence Stadium in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital on Wednesday, January 16.

President Buhari noted that the APC has delivered on the Abuja rail project and others across the country and improved on power supply.
He said the PDP instead claimed to have spent a lot of money on electricity but nothing to show for it.
He said: “Where were we in 2015 when we came in? But, look at what we have done so far, within the little resources available.
“Don’t make the mistake to vote any PDP candidate; all they want to do is to cover their track for the atrocities they committed. They claimed that they spent $16 million on power, but there is nothing to show for it. Look at what we have done, and what they destroyed.”
He promised that work would begin soon on the Ajaokuta Steel Company.
He praised the people of the state for standing by the party and urged them to vote APC candidates at both federal and state levels.
Rotimi Amaechi on his part said the PDP is only interested in coming back to look the treasury.
He said: “PDP is broke now, and their plan is to come back and loot. If you don’t reject them, they will come to loot for the next four years. PDP can only beat us in corruption.”

Legit.ng had reported that President Buhari arrived Kogi on Wednesday, January 16, to attend the All Progressives Congress (APC)'s presidential campaign rally in the state.
The special adviser on media and publicity to the president, Femi Adesina, disclosed that the president attended the rally with the APC national president, Adams Oshiomhole; the Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello and the governor of Plateau state, Simon Lalong.
