Atiku Abubakar has promised to remove the chairman of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele if he is elected president.
In an interview with Bloomberg, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party said Emefiele is not doing a good job and will be removed if he is elected.

He said: “I don’t think he’s pursued the right policies,”
“We have to have the right people in there.”
Atiku also attacked President Buhari saying he is not aware of what is happening around him.
The former vice president also alleged that there were plans to rig the election.
He said: “Fears of rigging are credible.
“I have never seen, since 1999, a government so repressive and anti-democratic.”
“The president doesn’t even know what’s going on around him. He’s aloof. You can see that he’s clueless in the way the country’s been governed since he came to office.”
“I’m not a rent-seeking politician. That’s absolutely incorrect. Anyone who has evidence of corruption against me, let him come out.”
Meanwhile, the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has visited the palace of the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, during his campaign trip to Osun state.
Premium Times reports that Atiku said his visit to the Ooni’s palace is to pay his respect to the Ile Ife kingdom.
