After a vengeful shellacking of Milwaukee just last night, can the Raptors manage to vanquish two Eastern Conference foes in an attempt to regain the mantle of “Beasts of the East?”
So, after a December to forget, the Toronto Raptors have begun the New Year with two rather inspiring wins sandwiched around a disappointing match-up with the Spurs — one which, of course, was billed the match-up of the season — ending in quite the embarrassing fashion.
While some may have predicted the loss to the Spurs, it still stings. Even after having our hearts ripped from our chests time and again, we continue on with this thing called hope. We aren’t necessarily a cynical bunch of fans — we’re passionate and we don’t know the meaning of the word “impossible.”
That’s how this iteration of the Toronto Raptors has, thus far, operated on the court. After witnessing comeback after comeback, we’re not really surprised any longer when we snatch victory from the claws of whichever poor sap decided to “screw” with their lineups while their team was holding a 20-point lead against Toronto with four minutes remaining.
The point of this rambling is that Indiana was the last team to give up a monumental lead against the Raptors. So, if we don’t dominate, hopefully we’ll see it again.
