Novak Djokovic broke Roger Federer’s record for the number of weeks on the first line of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings. This is reported on the website of the organization.
In the updated version of the list of the best tennis players in the world, the Serb remained in first place. This happened for the first time in July 2011, and in total Djokovic tops the rating for 311 weeks. The previous achievement, equal to 310 weeks, belonged to the Swiss Federer.
The best Russian in the updated ATP ranking is Daniil Medvedev, who is in third place. His compatriot Andrei Rublev is in eighth position.
Djokovic has won 18 Grand Slam singles titles in his career. At the end of February, the Serb won the Australian Open for the ninth time, beating Medvedev in the final.
