One of the most anticipated video games of the decade was finally revealed on Thursday night at The Game Awards 2024.
It’s been more than nine years since The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt set a new standard for open world RPGs, and since then the series has exploded in popularity and even received a big-budget Netflix adaptation.
The Witcher IV is on the way – though gamers could be waiting for quite a while for it to release. Developer CD Projekt Red announced that the game had entered the production stage earlier this year, but given how long the development process has become for Triple-A level games, I wouldn’t expect to see the game release before 2026 at the earliest.
The trailer reveals that Ciri, the adopted daughter of Geralt of Rivia, will be the main character. You can see the excellent reveal trailer below.
