DANCING On Ice has skated back onto our screens for its fourteenth series with another star-studded lineup.
Twelve celebs will take to the ice each Sunday in the hopes of impressing the judges and the thousands of Brits tuning in. But what time does it start?
Dancing On Ice 2022 made its highly anticipated return on Sunday, January 16, instead of its usual slot in the first week of January.
The series will then run over 10 weeks, with new episodes airing every Sunday on ITV.
Famous faces will get their skates on at 6.30pm tonight to battle it out on the ice before one couple face presenter Ria Hebden in this year’s first skate-off.
It looks likely that the 2022 final will air in March – most likely on the 20th, but no official date has been confirmed by ITV.
The competition – hosted by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby – first aired in 2006, with Coronation Street‘s Gaynor Faye crowned as the first ever champion.
A string of celebrities will perform each week with their professional partner in the hopes of making it to the final and being crowned the winner.
They will skate live in an attempt to impress the judges and the viewers at home with their rehearsed routines.
But which celebrities are starring in this year’s series? Here’s the full list…
No one has hung up their skates yet in this year’s series, but the first round of eliminations will take place on January 23, 2022.
Six celebrities have already take part in the first show of the series and the next episode sees the remaining six perform.
The couple at the bottom of the leaderboard from the first week then competes against the couple at the bottom of the leaderboard in the second week.
After the skate-off, the judges decide which one of the two contestants will be eliminated.
All of the celebs remain in the competition, however, some have been forced to pull out of the second episode.
Rachel Stevens has dropped out of the show for one week after fracturing her wrist when she fell on the ice during training.
She will make her debut in Week 3 instead on Sunday, January 30, 2022.
Happy Monday’s star Bez has also been forced to miss the second episode too after testing positive for Covid.
He was not due to skate having taken part in the first episode.
Five celebs will perform for the first time tonight ahead of the skate-off[/caption]Existing judges Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean and Ashley Banjo will return as judges – however, Arlene Phillips is set to replace John Barrowman.
A TV insider said “The fact that Arlene is a mature woman with decades of experience in the dance world is seen as a huge asset for Dancing on Ice.”
The judging panel had a shake up when it was revealed Barrowman had been axed from the show.
ITV was under pressure to axe the judge when accusations of sexual harassment surfaced from his time on the set of Doctor Who.
He later admitted to exposing himself several times on set, but denied any sexual intent, dismissing the act as “tomfoolery”.
Radio presenter Sonny Jay Muharrem was crowned the 13th winner of the show when he came out on top in the 2021 series.
In the final, Olympian Colin Jackson was voted off in the first half, leaving Sonny Jay and actress Faye Brookes as the top two.
They then both went on to perform the iconic Bolero before the phone lines closed for good, and Phil and Holly announced Sonny had been crowned the victor.
