KIDS under 18 face being banned from having cosmetic fillers – marking a huge step forward for The Sun’s campaign.
Under a proposed new law being revealed today, it will be illegal for children to have lip fillers unless they can prove their age.
Laura Trott, the new MP for Sevenoaks, will today announce her bid to bring forward legislation to protect under 18s from the dangers posed by the unregulated industry.
She is working to secure cross party support for her private members’ bill, which is expected to come to the Commons in May.
Ms Trott told The Sun: “No child needs cosmetic fillers or Botox.
“My Bill will stop the dangerous and unnecessary non-medical procedures that can ruin children’s lives.
“The Sun has run a brilliant campaign on this and I’m really pleased you’re supporting this vital change to the law.”
The new legislation will be called the “Botulinum Toxin and Cosmetic Fillers (Children) Bill”.
It marks a win for The Sun’s Had Our Fill campaign, which has put pressure on minister to act now to regulate the “wild west” industry.

Health minister Nadine Dorries has backed the campaign, admitting she too has felt the pressure to have cosmetic treatments.
Ministers are looking carefully at the proposed law and are considering whether to back it.
Meanwhile, MPs have already launched a major inquiry into the fillers industry after The Sun called for a crackdown to protect women.
Dermal fillers – which are used to fill fine lines and wrinkles and plump thin lips – can be injected by anyone, at anytime, anywhere.
Shocking stats reveal in 80 per cent of cases fillers are injected by people with no medical training at all.
Britain’s Botox and filler addiction is fuelling a £2.75billion industry.
The wrinkle-busting and skin plumping treatments account for 9 out of 10 cosmetic procedures.
50% of women and 40% of men aged 18 to 34 want to plump up their pouts and tweak their faces.

They are not alone. New figures released last month by the Government-backed register, Save Face, show the number of cases of botched jobs has doubled in the last year, up from 616 cases in 2017-18 to 1,300 last year.
And medics warn that is just the “tip of the iceberg”, with many more women injured, disfigured and permanently scarred.
