Katherine Schwarzenegger and Chris Pratt have a family Christmas tradition that might look a lot like yours — with a more extravagant twist. The children’s author shared a sneak peek into their holiday fun, and we are officially jealous.
“So much to be thankful for ♥️” the mom of three wrote on Instagram. She shared pictures with her family, including mom Maria Shriver, and their decorations. Swipe to slide 10 to see the holiday tradition that’s wonderfully luxe.
In this picture, Shriver and another adult stand next to Schwarzenegger and Pratt’s daughters Lyla, 5, and Eloise, 3. In it, they spot their Elves on the Shelves, the fun holiday tradition where a Scout elf comes from the North Pole in hides in silly places around your house. My kids love seeing where their elf hides every day, but they’ve never hidden somewhere as cool as Eloise and Lyla’s elves.
These little red guys were hanging out on a life-size gingerbread playhouse, complete with twinkling lights, working windows, and a little picket fence in front. One elf is hanging off the roof, and the other is hanging out near a window on front of the house, which is even taller than Shriver. Talk about the coolest toy ever!
In her roundup, Schwarzenegger also includes a snap of her girls riding a horse and one of baby Ford, 1, all dressed up in a gingham shirt, corduroy shorts, white tights and shoes. They are all so cute, it looks like they live in a Hallmark movie.
In an interview with SheKnows last month, Schwarzenegger shared the best gift parents can give their kids: open communication. “Allow children to feel that they can come to you with their questions, fears, and be able to talk through those things is a really big gift you can give your children as a parent,” she said. “I really feel like my parents gave to me and my siblings was this ability to just come to them about anything.”
Celebrate the magic of the holiday season with your own Elf on the Shelf. And take it from someone with experience, even if you don’t have elaborate set-ups or cool gifts for your elf to bring, your kids will still love finding it every year!
