A team of RMYC members have won their Class in the Fife Regatta on the Clyde. Congratulations to skipper Dick Cowan and crew members Chris Elsworth and Vice Commodore Mark Jones, who have won Class C in the Fife Regatta on the Clyde in Dick’s Fife-designed boat “Lotus”. A fantastic achievement!
On 21st May, the Admiral Cup was competed for by three boats from Tranmere Sailing Club, five boats from Liverpool Yacht Club and eight from Royal Mersey Yacht Club. After an exciting race in very flukey winds, the final handicap calculation showed that the winner was the Etchells Disco Volante from RMYC.
The Admiral Cup handicap race will be held on Saturday 21 May 2022 between the Fleets of Royal Mersey Yacht Club, Tranmere Sailing Club and Liverpool Yacht Club. Our Competent Crew course completed its theory phase this week and the crew are still smiling! The finishing touches are now being made to our boats and the moorings, the weather forecast is looking promising and we’re looking forward to launching on Wednesday and seeing all the theory being put into practice on the water.
