Shoshana Bean Joins 'Lost Boys' Broadway Musical, Taking Over Role from Caissie Levy
Shoshana Bean is heading back to Broadway in the upcoming musical The Lost Boys!
The Grammy-winning and Tony-nominated actress is set to star as Lucy Emerson in the world premiere musical, which will open in Spring 2026 at the Palace Theatre on Broadway.
Shoshana is best known for being the first replacement for Elphaba in Wicked back in 2004. She has received Tony nominations for her work in the musicals Hell’s Kitchen and Mr. Saturday Night, plus she starred in shows like Waitress and Hairspray.
Grammy nominee Caissie Levy was originally slated to perform the role, but she dropped out of the production as she was not ready to enter another grueling rehearsal process so soon after launching on Ragtime on Broadway a few months ago. She will be staying with that show amid its extended run.
The Lost Boys director Michael Arden said, “I’m beyond excited to welcome my longtime friend and singular artist Shoshana Bean to the cast as Lucy. Shoshana brings an electrifying voice, a fearless heart, and a deep humanity to everything she touches, onstage and off. I cannot wait for audiences to experience the power and soul she will unleash in this role. She has inspired so many and having her at the helm of our extraordinary company is truly an embarrassment of riches.”
The musical is based on the 1987 American supernatural horror-comedy film, which follows two teenage brothers who move with their divorced mother to the fictional town of Santa Carla, California, only to discover that the town is a haven for vampires.
Also set for the musical are LJ Benet as ‘Michael Emerson,’ Ali Louis Bourzgui as ‘David,’ Benjamin Pajak as ‘Sam Emerson,’ Maria Wirries as ‘Star,’ Paul Alexander Nolan as ‘Max,’ Jennifer Duka as ‘Alan Frog,’ Miguel Gil as ‘Edgar Frog,’ Brian Flores as ‘Marko,’ Sean Grandillo as ‘Dwayne,’ and Dean Maupin as ‘Paul.’
