On Tuesday, the former New York Magazine journalist—who’s got an inexplicable type for boomers with bad politics—released her much-anticipated memoir, American Canto, which includes the details of her sordid, forbidden (and alleged) romance with RFK Jr. Opting out of the celebrations was none other than Mrs. Brainworm herself, RFK’s wife, Cheryl Hines. Instead, she made a rare appearance alongside two other MAGA wives who are experts at burying their heads in the sand—Melania Trump and Usha Vance.
On Monday, the First and Second Ladies made a special outing to Joint Base Andrews in Maryland to participate in a Military Care Package Event hosted by the Red Cross, accompanied by Hines. There, they met military members’ families, signed holiday cards, assembled care packages, and—I assume—officially christened themselves the I-Hate-My-MAGA-Husband Club.
Hines’ appearance was particularly surprising, and came amid the mounting disbelief that two people could possibly want RFK Jr. at once. Speaking to Page Six on November 22, Hines admitted, “People ask me why do I stay married to him.” (She also admitted to losing friends over their union—one of which was her former television co-star, Larry David.) “There’s extremes on both sides to Bobby—and being his wife—because there are a lot of people who absolutely love and support him. And then there are people who, no matter what he accomplishes, are still going to criticize him,” she said.
On Monday night, Nuzzi’s ex-fiancé, Ryan Lizza, dropped Part 4 of his ongoing Substack trauma dump about the alleged affair, writing that RFK and Nuzzi “planned to consummate their relationship” after a Trump rally in 2024 because “Cheryl wouldn’t be around.” Eugh. (Spoiler alert: the rendezvous fell through.) Speaking about the affair in her own memoir, which was published in November, Hines said the two worked together to lay “everything on the table” when the scandal first broke.
But assuming she stays married, if anyone’s going to teach Hines the basics of holding onto a MAGA marriage with a hateful husband, it’s Melania and Usha. Usha appeared ringless (again) on Tuesday, a growing occurrence after her husband lamented over her hell-bound soul in November. Meanwhile, Melania—who totally loves Christmas now—is the final boss of hating her husband.
