The Bedfordshire County Archery Association is pleased to announce that entries are now open for the BCAA Outdoor County Championships 2026, taking place on Sunday 14th June at Slip End Playing Field. This closed‑county event brings Bedfordshire archers together for a full day of Albion and Windsor rounds, age‑group medals, and county‑level competition.

The 2026 SCAS Senior & Junior Inter‑Counties will take place on 2nd August at Andover RFC, with the county sending a full squad following last year’s strong performance. Selection will be based on UKRS/WRS outdoor scores from April 2025 onwards, with at least one WA720 required due to the event’s WA720 + Mixed Team H2H format.

Bedfordshire’s Illaria Knibb has delivered one of the most impressive seasons ever seen from a British barebow archer, culminating in a three‑medal performance at the 2026 European Indoor Championships. Bedfordshire County Archery Association (BCAA) secured a hard‑fought and well‑deserved victory in the 2026 Indoor Inter‑County Match, overcoming Northamptonshire County Archery Society (NCAS) in a closely contested Portsmouth round held on Sunday 1st March at Manor School and Sports College. The final tally saw BCAA finish on 7255 points, ahead of NCAS on 7108 points, sealing the indoor county title for Bedfordshire. Bedfordshire archers can now submit indoor scores for county squad selection ahead of the intercounty match on 1st March 2026. Submissions close on 8th February 2026, and eligible scores shot from 1st October 2024 can be entered via the county submission form.

Bedfordshire’s Illaria Knibb has earned her first Great Britain selection and will compete in the women’s barebow category at the 2026 European Indoor Championships in Plovdiv.

From December 5th-7th the AGB National Indoor Championships 2025 took place at Hall 2, Stoneleigh Park. The first 2 days consisted of the Home Nations indoor competition as well as the senior indoor championships. There was a strong number of BCAA archers competing this year both the senior and junior championships. In November the annual BCAA Indoor County Championships were held at the Alameda Middle School Sports Hall by Clophill Archery Club. This year there was another fantastic turnout of both county and open archers. The day consisted of 3 Portsmouth rounds. Kestrels Archery Club are hosting a new combined Portsmouth and Worcester on February 1st 2026 at Stratton School, Biggleswade. This competition continues the respect of both Sue Draper and Roger Horley in recognition of all the work that they did for the club over many years.
