How does Laiyang win the laurel of “China’s No. 1 City of Pre-cooked Food”? It is known that Laiyang has a deep relationship with the pre-cooked food industry. Since the 1980s, Laiyang companies represented by LongDa Foodstuff have exported pre-cooked food to Japan. After nearly 40 years of endeavor and practice, Laiyang now forms a full-category and full-chain pre-cooked food industry system, such as vegetables, livestock and poultry, aquatic products, pastry and so on, represented by LongDa Foodstuff, Springsnow Food and other companies. At the same time, driven by several leading companies such as LongDa Foodstuff and Hengrun Foodstuff, Laiyang vigorously develops its own base and customized, standardized planting base, forming a management system withinternational top raw material quality as the standard. The development model of “company + base + farmers” and “company + cooperatives + farmers” guarantees the income of local farmers and the prosperity of local regions. Among typical cases of the“First Rural Revitalization Empowerment Plan” released by CCTV recently, this model is successfully selected as one of the top 10 typical cases of industrial revitalization.
Up to now, Laiyang has more than 200 pre-cooked food production companies of various types, including 85 listed companies, 2 A-share main board listed companies, and more than 110 export-oriented companies. In 2022, the sales revenue of pre-cooked food in the city reached 8.35 billion yuan, doubling in one year.
Additionally, Laiyang vigorously implements the pre-cooked food company multiplication project and cluster breakthrough project. Focusing on six industrial chains of Laiyang pear, plump peanut, fruit and vegetable, white feather broiler, swine and dairy industry, Laiyang makes precise efforts to select leading companies, tailor multiplication development plans, and implement multiplication leading plans. In 2022, Springsnow Food and LongDa Foodstuff were listed among the top 50 leading companies in China’s pre-cooked food industry, Luhua Group and LongDa Foodstuff were selected as the top 100 food industries in China, Laiyang Agricultural and Sideline Food Deep Processing was shortlisted for the provincial characteristic advantageous food industry cluster, and was rated as “National Top 10 Pre-cooked Food Bases” by the Consumer Economy Research Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; In the “First China Top 100 Pre-cooked Food Companies” released by the Hurun Research Institute in March this year, 3 companies, LongDa Foodstuff, Springsnow Food and Magic Chef, were on the list, making the city with the most listed companies in the province.
At present, Laiyang is striving to build a pre-cooked food industry characteristic park with the highest industrial concentration degree, the most complete supporting facilities and the strongest carrying capacity in China, and to build the regional public brand of China’s “cloud kitchen” and the world’s “vegetable basket” -- “Laiyang taste”, so that the taste of China will float to every corner of the world. It is estimated that by 2025, the production capacity of pre-cooked food in Laiyang will reach 1.2 million tons, and the annual sales will exceed 20 billion yuan, forming a “100 billion-level” green food industry and a “10-billion-level” pre-cooked food industry cluster.
