Penny Goldstone, Fashion Editor
Name: Marty
Age: 7
Breed: Cat, Domestic ginger short hair
Likes: Loves snoozing.
Dislikes: Having his hair brushed.
What will Marty be opening on Christmas morning?
‘Marty loves to sleep, pretty much all day. Unfortunately he loves to do this on my favourite pink velvet armchair from Made, and he’s not always considerate enough to wipe his paws before jumping on it. So this Christmas I want to buy him a miniature version of it, as Made have just released an adorable (and stylish) pet range. Fingers crossed he goes for it!’
Holly Rains, Editor
Name: Joey
Age: Prefer not to disclose
Breed: Cypriot mystery mongrel (German shepherd x labrador x poodle x shih tzu)
Likes: Cathedral City, Masterchef: The Professionals, the café at Kenwood House, raw meat
Dislikes: Brexit
What will Joey be opening on Christmas morning?
‘Unlike Jenny from the Block, Joey is keen to distance himself from his humble street life beginnings. His taste for luxury is in his DNA, which is why he’s keen to be gifted The Casper Dog Bed this Christmas. It’s comfy yet tough to chew through, has a removable machine washable cover and is made from pressure-relieving memory foam so Joey can forget about the long nights spent partying on the streets of Ayia Napa and instead, have a stress-free 10-hour sleep night after night.
Sunil Makan, Associate Editor
Name: Finneas (Finn or Finny, or Doh-Finny)
Age: 11 months
Breed: Hungarian Vizsla
Likes: Ear rubs, socks and Black bomber cheddar – well, anything edible or not (for that matter). When called ‘good boy’ is always down to party.
Dislikes: The cold, being bathed and having the aforementioned socks taken away from him.
What will Finneas be opening on Christmas morning?
‘Whilst Finn may not technically my dog, he is my nephew that I adore. And, in typical ‘that’s not my child’ scenario, don’t need to do the discipline thing that his mama and papa do – we just have all the fun. Now, what do you get the dog that has everything? That’s my challenge here. Thankfully, I spotted the new Kiehl’s Cuddly Coat dog range which is comprised on a shampoo, detangling Grooming Rise and a Cleansing Spritz. Not only is the range gentle enough for his skin but it’ll leave him smelling like, quite frankly, the best boy in town.’
Lucy Abbersteen, Beauty Writer
Name: Coco
Age: 6 months
Breed: 2nd Generation Cockapoo
Likes: Chewing, offering you her paw and being sassy.
Dislikes: Not being allowed to chew, not being allowed to jump on all the furniture. Essentially, not being allowed to do whatever she wants.
What will Coco be opening on Christmas morning?
Coco, 6 months, 2nd gen Cockapoo. Enjoys chewing, offering you her paw and being sassy.
‘While I love nothing more than a dog Christmas jumper, dressing Coco in anything other than a collar usually results in her sulking. However, she is a pupperoo who loves being groomed, so I’ll be getting her this very boujie Aesop Animal Wash as well as a bumper supply of denta sticks. I can’t dress her up as a reindeer, but at least she’ll smell great.’
Jenny Proudfoot, Digital Features Editor
Name: Peaches
Age: 6
Breed: Springer Spaniel
Likes: Cats and Tennis balls.
Dislikes: The hoover and grapes.
What will Peaches be opening on Christmas morning?
‘Peaches loves cats more than anyone I know loves anything. She is FASCINATED by them and will often run away from home to stare at our neighbours’ Siamese cats through their garden window. In order to keep her in our house and our neighbours on good terms therefore, I’m opting to get Peaches this cuddly Jellycat kitten toy so she can stare at it for hours on end within the confines of our home.’
