Ranbir Kapoor's Animal is one of the biggest hits of 2023. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, it also stars Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, and Triptii Dimri. The movie received mixed reviews from critics as well as the audience. Some people love it and some absolutely hate it. It is also the first time we saw Kapoor in a full-fledged action mode, moving away from his boy-next-door and lover-boy image.
Animal is one of the most discussed movies of recent times. There have been debates around it on social media and even many celebrities have shared their likes and dislikes for Sandeep's action thriller. Some people believe that it glorified violence and was quite "misogynist" in nature. Ranbir Kapoor was recently asked about the same.
Today, at the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, the Tamasha actor was asked about the importance of telling sensible stories in movies. Ranbir agreed to the same and said that as actors, it is their responsibility to bring content that makes a positive impact on society. While reflecting the glorification of violence in his 2023 blockbuster, Kapoor spoke about creative freedom.
As reported by several entertainment news portals, Ranbir Kapoor said, "As an actor, it's important for me to dabble in different genres and characters and play varied roles." In the same interaction, RK got candid about his plans to direct movies. The Rockstar actor said that he has thought about it and even spoke to some people about the same, including Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The actor wishes to make a film on Mr. Raj Kapoor.
On the work front, Ranbir will be next seen in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love and War. The latter also stars Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in the lead roles. He will also be a part of the Animal sequel titled Animal Park.
