Tomorrow sees the final league game of 2024 as both the 1st and 2nd XV welcome Scunthorpe to Kelleythorpe.
Scunthorpe’s 1st XV sit top of the Regional 1 North East Table, with an impressive 10 wins from 12 games, with losses to York and, last weekend, to Huddersfield. Earlier in the season the Woldmen narrowly missed out on the win away in North Lincolnshire as Scunthorpe scored with almost the last play of the game to take the points. Driffield will need to be on top form to ensure they maintain their unbeaten home record so far this season.
The 2nd XV also welcome Scunthorpe and also suffered a narrow loss on the road in the reverse fixture. With the Woldsmen currently sitting 2nd in the league table and Scunthorpe in 5th with a game in hand, this is yet another big game as the 2s continue to target the play-off places in the league. This weekend sees four Colts turning out for the 2nd XV with three in the starting lineup.
Support for both games will be massively welcome as we aim to finish 2024 on a high.
Following the games the club will be hosting a Christmas Party, with DJ starting from 7pm. This is open to all, is free to enter, and will be a great way to kick start the Christmas period. Food is available to buy on the night for £5 pp
