India’s star batter Shubman Gill has shared the team’s determination to move forward and treat the remaining Border-Gavaskar Trophy as a new three-match series. Other than the dominant victory in the first Test in Perth, India suffered a humiliating 10-wicket defeat in the second Test in Adelaide.
During the pre-match conference, Shubman Gill admitted the disappointment after the loss in Adelaide, but also shared hoe the team has a positive mindset. He talked about the team’s dinner on Thursday, December 12, and the overall atmosphere of the camp. Gill also clarified that the team is focused on the task they have in their hand, and that they are not carrying any burden from the previous performances.
“The mood is very good in the camp. We had our team dinner only yesterday. We had a lot of fun during the dinner. Yes, the Adelaide Test did not go the way we wanted it to be. But, we are considering it as a three-match series. If we win this match, then in Melbourne and Sydney, we will have the upper hand,” Gill said in the pre-match press conference.
“Definitely, very nostalgic when I came here. The whole team came and just while walking through the stadium, it felt very nostalgic. The wicket I think, we will get to know, once we play on it. I think it will be a good wicket to play on,” he added.
Indian team will not face Australia for the third Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 in Gabba Stadium in Brisbane, set to begin December 14.
