Good Friday morning!
The cold weather has stuck around for another morning, but now we're adding in another element of winter - snow! A few flurries left a light dusting of snow on the ground for some of us to wake up to. While the snow chance won't last much longer, the warming trend is going to last for a few more days!
A band of snow showers brought a little bit of snow to areas north of I-70 this morning. Most spots picked up a few tenths of an inch. Snow will wrap up roughly around sunrise with clouds remaining steady through the late morning. Sunshine begins to break in as we go into the second half of the day.
Temperatures today will finally break above freezing - but barely. Winds, while lighter than yesterday, will add in a slight wind chill throughout the day. Temperatures continue to warm into the weekend where we climb to the mid 40s for both Saturday & Sunday. Skies remain cloudy as well, but some days will eventually give way to rain.
Our next system will push in late Saturday and mainly through Sunday. Scattered showers will start to pick up Saturday, building overnight, and sticking around for the end of the weekend. Rain will hang around to start off the work week, but that will be our "warmest" day as the thermometer climbs into the mid 50s.
Through the course of next week, temperatures are gradually cooling through the 40s and into the upper 30s by the end of the week. Showers will continue to make frequent reappearances, but some days will tend to be drier than others.
