BROOKLYN BRIDGE, Brooklyn (PIX11) – Human remains were found near the Brooklyn Bridge on Thursday evening, according to the NYPD.
The skeletal remains were discovered close to 45 Water St. around 6:30 p.m. The medical examiner will determine the origin, police said.
The remains are believed to be part of a pelvic bone, sources told PIX11 News.
This is the fifth set of remains found in the area. A human skull and bones had washed up on the shore near the carousel in Brooklyn Bridge Park on Aug. 19, according to authorities.
More bones continued to appear along the shoreline after the initial discovery of the skull, police said.
