WE ALL know that our bin men work hard to keep our streets clean and often, we tend to thank them at Christmas time with a gift.
But one bin man in the UK has revealed the presents they can’t stand the sight of.
Bin men work hard all year round but what Christmas present do you get them?[/caption]Taking to social media, the bin man tries to answer everyone’s questions they have for those in the job.
In this instance, one follower asked him what they really wanted for Christmas.
They wrote: “I always give my bin men boxes of chocolate for Christmas but keep thinking would they prefer something else.
“Do you get presents from people and if so what?”
The bin man was quick to offer his take saying they didn’t want boxes of chocolate for Christmas, or cheap beer.
He said: “I tell you what I don’t want is Fosters.
“No one drinks Fosters. You don’t want it, that’s why you give it to us.
“But most of the time people just give us stuff which they don’t want anyway, so we’re not fussed. We’ll take it.”
However, if you really want to get into their good books this year he did have one piece of advice to give.
“Please can I have a bacon sandwich and a cup of coffee?” he said.
The clip posted to his TikTok account theno1.binman soon went viral with over 316k views and 4,300 likes.
People were quick to share their thoughts on what to get their bin men.
One person wrote: “Our street does a collection every house gives £5, so they get just over £200 quid. when I broke my foot they collected the bin from the garden and put it back for me.”
Another commented: “I bake my Bin Man cakes every week since lockdown, tomorrow they’re having croissants and they buy me a box of chocolates every Christmas.”
These gifts can show your appreciation for their hard work and dedication throughout the year.
“I give the bin men some money in a card .. they sent me a thank you card last year which was cute”,” penned a third.
Meanwhile a fourth said: “Our bin men are amazing! Everyone in the street gives them cash at Christmas! They do such a good job all year round in all weather.”
“Always think this, Greggs voucher it is,” claimed a fifth.
Someone else added: “I’m going to do that this year! I’m going to leave them in foil and on a tray.”
