If you're snouting around for an amazing bottle of whiskey for the holidays, look no further than WhistlePig’s new limited edition 10-year-old PiggyBank Rye. The Vermont distillery released the new 110-proof small batch rye whiskey that's aged 10 years and packaged in a bright gold “piggy bank” decanter bottle.
The release marks the third year that WhistlePig has released the limited 10-year PiggyBank Rye, but the first time painting the pig gold. To add to the allure, the whiskey pours from the rear of the golden pig. It also comes with a stand in the box to help display this signature bottle on your shelf or home bar.
“The original Berkshire Bitter Pig replica decanter is gold coated from the snout down to the jingle balls, making a hog-like home for WhistlePig’s flagship Rye Aged 10 Years with an extra 10 proof for holiday cheer,” the distillery announced in a release.

WhistlePig’s standard 10-year small-batch rye is bottled at 100 proof compared to the 110 proof for the limited-edition. The decade spent in oak barrels produces a rich deep complex whiskey that has strong notes of black pepper, vanilla, and cinnamon. There’s an anise note that really comes through after letting the bottle breathe. Despite the high proof, the whiskey is very smooth and has a clean, warm, and inviting finish.
WhistlePig hosted a free tasting last week at its Gold ‘n’ Grocer, a pop-up holiday attraction in New York City. The tasting included a lineup of WhistlePig Whiskey including Small Batch Rye Aged 10 Years and the Limited-Edition PiggyBank Rye. But if you missed out, there’s also a Whole Lotto Pig scratch-off sweepstakes game that includes a variety of prizes ranging from $1 to $10,000. Those outside of New York City can visit wholelottopig.com for a chance to win.
Once you’ve drained the signature bottle, it has a coin slot to continue using the bottle to store change. It's available in WhistlePig’s online store for $300 with a limit of two bottles per customer or at liquor stores across the country.
