A WOMAN has died after being mauled by a dog at a flat.
Mercy crews raced to the scene at around 11.15pm on Saturday.
The alarm was raised when the woman was left seriously injured after being pounced on by the crazed mutt.
The 41-year-old woman was fatally wounded and was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is not yet know what breed the dog was.
But cops have confirmed the animal has since been put down.
Police say inquiries remain ongoing following the horror attack at a property on Foresterhill Road in Aberdeen.
In a statement, police told how emergency services were unable to save the woman due to her severe injuries.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.15pm on Saturday, 7 December 2024, police received a report that a woman had been seriously injured by a dog within a flat on Foresterhill Road, Aberdeen.
“Emergency services attended but the 41-year-old woman died at the scene.
“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
“The dog has since been euthanised.”
