Fans had begun to speculate that all wasn’t well for the pair after a recent promo video from them came across as awkward and forced.
In the video, the pair seemed stiff and distant which is a stark change to their usual playful and affectionate displays.
The pair’s relationship has been confirmed to be over after a rep for the pair told us: “Over the last couple of days Nicole and Ciaran have made the mutual decision to part ways.
“They have left the relationship on amicable terms, and will remain good friends going forward.”
Nicole and Ciaran came in second place on Love Island over the summer.
Despite being the only official couple in the villa they missed out on the top prize to Josh Oyinsan and Mimii Ngulube.
In interviews after the villa, the pair seemed on the fast track after moving in together, and even discussing marriage and children.
Speaking about their future, Nicole gushed in an interview: “If I didn’t think we were going to get married and have babies one day, we wouldn’t be together, so I’d say that’s definitely on the cards in the future. Ci would be an amazing dad.”
Ciaran also opened up about how they made their relationship work, as he said to Heat: “I think the important thing is communication.
“You need to be with someone who understands you and who you can talk to about anything.
“Also, always try to have fun, even when doing the boring stuff. And support each other, be happy for each other.”
The 11th series of popular ITV2 dating show Love Island created plenty of new couples - but not all of them have managed to go the distance.
