More teams didn’t result in less controversy.
The College Football Playoff, which transitioned from four teams to 12, still featured one big question: SMU or Alabama? The selection committee on Sunday revealed its answer with the Mustangs edging the three-loss Crimson Tide for the final spot.
Alabama was the first team out while the Miami Hurricanes were the second team out.
