The Princess of Wales is in the midst of hosting her annual Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey – but a photo of a sweet note by Prince Louis has melted our hearts.
Kate, wearing a festive red coat, was joined by her family to preside over the Together at Christmas service, which will celebrate individuals who have supported others.
Prince Louis, her youngest child, was spotted carrying a red piece of paper with something he was thankful for scribbled on it.
The young royals had stopped at a ‘Kindness Tree’ outside the Abbey’s great west door and hung messages on its branches in dedication to someone has supported them during their lives in keeping with the service’s theme of love and empathy.
The note read: ‘Thank you for Granny and Grandpa because they have played games with me.’
Kate also wrote a letter for the 1,600 Abbey carol goers, including members of the royal family, telling them ‘Love is the light that can shine bright, even in our darkest times’.
Her message will say: ‘This Carol Service is a heartfelt celebration of every one of you, and a reminder that at Christmas, and throughout the year, we must all shine for each other. Because in times of joy and sadness, we are all each other’s light.’
Among the group waiting to meet the princess in the Abbey’s Chapter House were singers Gregory Porter and Paloma Faith.
The princess is also due to chat to those giving the readings including actors Richard E Grant, Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery, Sophie Okonedo, nominated for an Oscar for her role in the film Hotel Rwanda, and Olympic swimming champion Adam Peaty.
