The organisation provide unique experiences, build confidence and engender life-long friendship among those who have experienced trauma or faced adverse challenges.
And Queen’s Park is thrilled to provide more of those special experiences thanks to our friends at Dunns Food and Drink wholesalers, based in Blantyre.
Callum Davidson’s first-team stars will be joined by two mascots from the charity while 50 more guests will be granted the full Hampden match-going experience for the Championship match with the Diamonds.
The Spiders will also wear the charity logo on specially made T-shirts during the warm-up.
The occasion will be captured for prosperity by another charity beneficiary who will shadow club photographer Ian Cairns pitchside to cover the game and Aware Scotland’s big day out.
A bucket collection to fund more work of the charity will also take place inside the ground at half time, while Dunns have also kindly provided special goodie bags for the Aware Scotland team.
Julie Dunn, Operations Director at Dunns Food and Drinks said: “Dunns is delighted that in continuing our relationship with Queens Park we can offer our friends at Aware such an array of opportunities. They are a terrific group of young people and the work they do brings such joy. We are thrilled that Queens Park and their fans have welcomed the Aware team so warmly”.
Chris Glancey, Founder of Aware Scotland added: “Our partnership with Queen’s Park has been fantastic, and we’re thrilled to see it continue into its second year. They’ve gone above and beyond to support our young people, from hosting a brilliant football session last month to now welcoming 30 of them to Saturday’s game against Airdrie. Kenzie and Dylan will have the amazing opportunity to be mascots on the day, and Kiera will be working alongside the match day photographer – incredible experiences for them! Everyone is so excited, and we’re incredibly grateful for the opportunities this partnership provides. We can’t wait for Saturday”
Saturday’s awareness day is the latest step in the link-up between Queen’s Park and Aware Scotland.
The charity attended last season’s match with Inverness Caledonian Thistle and more young people took part in a special Spiders training session with Louis Longridge earlier this year.
Head of commercial, Kieran Koszary said: “Welcoming the team from Aware is always a highlight of our season and gives the club the chance to raise awareness of the good work they do.
“Last year our very special guests had a blast at the Inverness match and we look forward to helping the enjoy more unforgettable memories this weekend.
“We look forward to seeing the Aware mascots at the match and seeing all the photographs afterwards too.
“Thanks as ever to our friends and long-time supporters at Dunns food and Drink for supplying goodie bags. Please donate what you can to the charity’s bucket collection taking place around the ground.”
