Robert was born on March 11, 1960, and is one member of the British acting dynasty The Glenisters.
His dad John was a TV director who worked on the hit ITV series A Touch of Frost.
The actor’s younger brother Philip rocketed to fame in the 2000s for playing DCI Gene Hunt in Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes.
Robert made his own TV debut on the sitcom Sink or Swim which ran from 1980 until 1982.

In the BBC comedy series, he played Rodney’s friend and millionaire businessman Myles.

Unbeknownst to Myles, the product is actually just water from Del Boy’s tap.

He was the only actor to star in every episode of the series.
Fans might also recognise the actor from the BBC spy drama Spooks, where he played Home Secretary Nicholas Blake.
The series also starred Keely Hawes, who was Robert’s brother Phillip’s co-star on Ashes to Ashes.
Robert is married to BBC radio producer and director Celia de Wolff, with whom he has a son.
