KATIE Price has taken to selling a worn pair of designer sandals for £100 online, in a fresh twist on her financial woes.
The former glamour model has listed the shabby white Balenciaga sandals on the second hand clothing shop, Depop, which she describes as being in ‘good condition, but with a few marks seen in photos.’
Katie Price has been advertising her shoes for sale on her Insta stories[/caption] The designer shoes which retail for around £500 have been reduced to £100, but they appear worn[/caption]The TV personality has a marketplace page on the site, where she has listed a variety of clothing items, mainly shoes for sale, as another source of income.
Indeed this appears to be the second time that she has tried to sell this particular pair of sliders on the site, after they were originally listed for back in 2022 for £250.
But clearly the model has now felt the need to drop the price, to ensure that she can shift the items for good.
But while the size 5 shoes still look solid, they are hardly in pristine condition, as the original white colour appears tired and tarnished and the sole of the shoe is naturally a little grubby from wear and tear.
That said, that the coveted designer sandals cost around £500 to buy new, so no doubt they are likely to be snapped up at the discounted price. According to the site, two offers have already been made.
But it seems inconceivable that a self-made, successful business woman who was once worth £45 million, is now selling old shoes online to wrestle back control of her finances.
In recent years the women formerly known as Jordan, has faced crushing financial hardship, after being made bankrupt and having her beloved home, Mucky Mansion, repossessed by creditors, earlier this year.
The mum-of-five was declared bankrupt in 2019, after it was revealed that she owes £3.2 million to creditors, as well as HMRC, her mortgage company and various small businesses.
Then, after failing to pay back £12,000 a month to the creditors following various court hearings, her £2 million home, Mucky Mansion in West Sussex was repossessed in May.
This came a few months after the model had been declared bankrupt for the second time and served with an eviction notice, owing £762,000 to the Inland Revenue.
But now Katie has made a fresh start and has moved to a new home with her five children, as she recently shared photos of her newly decorated Christmas tree and other pictures of her contentedly preparing food in her new kitchen.
Although she had no choice but to flog her mansion, Katie had become fed up with the property she purchased n 2014, after finding that it was riddled with problems.
Speaking on her Katie Price podcast earlier this year, the media personality admitted that the house had fallen into disrepair with mold in the swimming pool and her children complaining of seeing ghosts.
She was also targeted by vandals when her signature pink range rover was covered in acid during an attempted burglary.
She said: ” I absolutely have hated my mansion.
“Fly-tipping, it’s haunted… and I am living with it. And whoever buys that house, good luck! I hate it.”
While the house did sell for £1.5 million, Katie and her family were not able to benefit, as the money was needed to settle her debts.
A source told The Sun shortly after the sale, “Katie won’t be benefiting, however, as all the proceeds will go to pay off the mortgages she had leveraged on the place.”
But it’s not all bad news, Katie will be pulling in the laughs this Christmas as she stars in the pantomime Cinderella, as one of the Wicked Stepsisters opposite, best pal, Kerry Katona, at Northwich Memorial Court in Cheshire.
At the peak of her career Katie had an estimated fortune of £45m, thanks to her lucrative modelling career, book deals, and TV appearances.
The cash-strapped mum-of-five was first declared bankrupt in 2019 over unpaid debts of £3.2 million.
In a podcast interview earlier this year, she blamed her exes who include Peter Andre, Alex Reid and Kieran Hayler and lawyers for her money woes.
She insisted that funding her exes’ lavish lifestyles with cars, watches, luxury holidays and homes left her finances in tatters.
She added: “I went through a breakdown, this is how mine started – lawyers and exes, that is my bankruptcy thing.
“And obviously a bit of HMRC.
“When I had my breakdown, if anyone has been depressed… I don’t know if you’ve ever had depression.
“It starts with depression and you just want to sleep all day and not talk to anyone, the phone would ring and you wouldn’t answer it.’
In March, Katie was declared bankrupt for a second time over an unpaid tax bill of £761,994.05.
The demand for payment was made by HMRC last October.
Katie was due to give evidence about her finances at the High Court but failed to turn up – holidaying in Cyprus with her new man JJ Slater instead.
Her Mucky Mansion was a bomb site for years after it was burgled, flooded and swamped by an overflowing septic tank.
She finally moved out at the end of May and is renting a four-bed mansion in Sussex.
