Hibernian striker Kieron Bowie is back running on the training pitch as he continues his return to fitness following a hamstring injury in September.
It has been a frustrating start to life at Hibs for 22-year-old, Kieron Bowie.
Bowie penned a four-year deal with the Club in August and hit the ground running – scoring his first goal for the Club two weeks later, coming off the bench to score in a 2-2 draw with Dundee at Easter Road.
Unfortunately, the striker suffered a serious hamstring injury whilst on international duty with Scotland Under-21s in the middle of September, which has seen him sidelined since.
Since then, Bowie has been working hard in the gym on his rehabilitation programme to make sure he comes back fitter and stronger.
The Hibs forward joined Gavin Rittoo on The Hibs TV Team Talk pre-match show ahead of the visit of Aberdeen in midweek and provided an update on his recovery.
“I’m getting there, slowly but surely”, Kieron told Hibs TV.
“It has been over two months out now, but I am feeling a lot better – I am back out running on the pitch, so that is a nice change of scenery for me. Hopefully, in another couple of months I will be back ready.
“I got the all-clear from the surgeon recently after my most recent scan. So, I am at the stage where I can increase things with more intensity, get back on the pitch and back running.
“It has been difficult not being able to make an impact on the team and having to watch from the sidelines every week. As a player, you just want to make an impact and help your teammates so it has been a tough time.
“I am aiming for a return at the end of January, but that is just a rough estimate at the moment. It could be later; you just have to take these things week by week.”
