Hell hath no fury like a woman doing a solo podcast from her living room. On the latest episode of Kristin Cavallari’s Let’s Be Honest, the reality star went off on Scott Disick for being “manipulative” in his attempt to reconnect, sharing a DM he allegedly sent her recently.
“Hey!!! It’s been such a long time, it’s crazy,” Cavallari claimed Disick wrote (she noted that he used three exclamation points). “Kind of crazy how our lives ended up being kind of similar. I feel like it would be so good to see you and catch up and talk about the things you’ve got to go through with kids and changing your life around over and over.”
“I really miss you though and wish I would have reached out earlier, just been so busy trying to be the best dad I can be,” Disick continued. “I don’t have time for much but trying to think about myself a little bit again, or trying, anyway. Hope to hear from you. Just text me so it’s easier to chat.”
Out of context, this seems like a relatively normal DM to receive from someone you haven’t spoken to in years. It’s almost, dare I say, nice. Cavallari made sure we had the full context, though. She explained that she’s known Disick since she was 18, they ran in the same social circles and would party together in Los Angeles. He eventually introduced her to Kourtney Kardashian, and the two women became “really good friends,” according to Cavallari.
In 2011, Disick and Kardashian had briefly broken up, and Cavallari was partying with him in Las Vegas. Headlines emerged that the longtime friends had hooked up, and Cavallari now claims that Disick is the one who started the rumor. She recalled thinking, “It’s 100 percent Scott who did this to get Kourtney back … A lot of times when a girl sees that a guy has moved on, they’re like, ‘I want him back.’ And it worked. They got back together.”
Now, Cavallari thinks Disick is being sent to manipulate her after she has been talking some light shit about the Kardashians on her podcast in recent weeks. In a recent episode — funnily titled “The Cabal Is Trying to Silence Me!” — Cavallari said it was “gross” that the Kardashians try so hard to keep their names in the headlines. “What interesting timing that I get a DM on Instagram from Scott fucking Disick,” she said.
“This is like, classic manipulation. ‘Miss you …’ Oh Scott, you miss me? After 17 years? That timing is not lost on me that as I’m ripping on the Kardashians, calling them out for shit, now they want to send in Scott,” she said directly to the camera. “This is Hollywood. When you’re out there talking and they don’t like that, this is what they do to try to silence you and control you.”
Do I think Kristin Cavallari has enough influence that Kris Jenner sent Scott in to shut her up? Not really. Do I think Scott has seen all the headlines about Cavallari being single and having hooked up with Jason Statham? Yes. Did I find the podcast episode kind of compelling and maybe worthy of a weekly check-in? That’s private.
